Practice Policies
At practice, our goals are to be safe, have fun, get better at swimming, make friends, and solve all the world's problems (ok, maybe not that last thing). Toward those goals...
We expect all swimmers to treat each other as friends and teammates at all times during practice. We expect all swimmers to support each other, encourage each other, and communicate with kind words and a positive attitude. There is no place on our team for negative attitudes, mean spirited talk, teasing, or any words or actions that aim to exclude other swimmers.
Practice begins on time and takes place rain or shine unless there is thunder/lightning. It can be cold early in the morning in Vermont and New Hampshire so please bring warm cover-up clothing for before and after you're in the water. Warm-ups are important for swimmers' physical safety, and all swimmers are expected to arrive at practice on time.
We ask parents to help make sure swimmers arrive for practice well hydrated and adequately nourished. We do not eat snacks during practice. Please do not use the start of practice time to change into your swimsuit, eat breakfast, or use the bathroom. These things should be done before practice begins.
Swimmers are expected to give their coach their full attention throughout practice. Listening to instructions and feedback is critical to building swimming skill.
